The Back Story
FTM Diesel & Off Road was opened in 2016 when I decided to leave a long career in fleet maintenance and open a diesel performance shop. It was a big leap, going from a lifetime of HD fleet service to general public light duty. After many years of changing every part of my own vehicles (and a push from my husband) I was pretty confident I could bring a new idea of truck repair to the folks on the North California Coast.
After my first 6.0 Powerstroke came in for a major repair in the tiny shed I called a shop for the first year and roared back to life, I knew I'd made the right choice. I truly enjoy all my customers and always want them to leave with more knowledge (and horsepower) than they came in with. The customers that I'm the most pleased to work for are my female customers, I can see the relief in their eyes when another woman is their mechanic. Being in the industry my entire life I'd never experienced the reluctance and fear of an auto shop that other women face, I never want my customers to feel that way; woman or man. Trust is a major part of this work and it's your mechanic's job to earn it. I like to think of my customers as part of my fleet, I work on your truck-you're in.
